Wendy Altenburger is the former Education Coordinator for Horse Cave Theatre, a professional, Equity theatre in south central Kentucky.  She presented over 200 classes for the theatre, reaching over 1500 students. Her performance credits include Neil Simon’s Rumors, Kander and Ebb’s Chicago, and numerous children’s theatre performances. As a costume designer and technician, Wendy has worked with Central City Opera, CO;  The University of South Carolina Summer Repertory,  SC;  and Millbrook Playhouse, PA.  Wendy trained as a stage manager as an apprentice with the Civic Light Opera of Pittsburgh, and later was Assistant Properties Mistress for the 1992 and 1993 productions of  A Musical Christmas Carol. In 2001, Wendy opened The Muse House, a small studio for handcrafted items, as a base for her dream of one day opening an artist’s retreat and education center.  She has lived in the Ligonier Valley since 2006, serving as a Teacher Naturalist for Powdermill Nature Reserve and as a barista for Abigail’s Coffeehouse.
